1. GRIPS

1.1. SHAKEHAND GRIP

  • This kind of grip is also called "Orthodox" or "Western Grip.

1.2. PENHOLD GRIP

  • This is also called as the Chinese penhold grip

2. SERVICE

  • Topspin Serve
  • Backspin Serve
  • Sidespin Serve
  • Forehand Chop Serve
  • Backhand Chop Serve

3. Stroke Drive

  • The stroke or drive style in playing has no difference from the form you did in the service, Except that during rally, or the continous return of the ball ball from your side to the opponent side, each player should be aware of the strategy he will use which thinks is effective on both the offensive and defensive play. So your opponent will miss the drive to return the ball back to you.

4. DEFENSIVE STROKE

7. TERMS

  • Default: a penalty wherein the first lined player is not allowed to play a scheduled match due to certain reasons such as late appearance, illegal clothing or unbecoming conduct
  • Walk over: Term which is given to the defaulted player's opponent
  • Score: number of points obtained
  • Rally: an entire gameplay until the ball dies
  • Point: If a rally scores, its a point
  • Let: if a rally is not scored, its a let, it must be replayed
  • Game or set: when a player scores 21 points
  • Match: A group of games such as "two out of three"
  • Volley: a term which means hitting the ball before it bounces
  • half-volley: hitting the ball after it bounces
  • Deep: a ball bouncing near the endline
  • Short: a ball bouncing near the net
  • Loose return: a push that is too high and a loop drive with insufficient spin
